Food Bank Support | Through November

WCDP Partners with Sweetgrass Uprising and Siouxland’s Good Trouble Makers to Help Feed Neighbors WCDP has joined forces with Streetgrass Uprising and Siouxland’s Good Trouble Makers to help feed Siouxlanders experiencing food insecurity due to the suspension of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. The benefits will pause beginning Saturday, November 1, 2025, at which point the federal government will have been shut down for more than a month. This suspension of benefits will leave 42 million Americans and more than 12,000 Woodbury County residents without the benefits on which they depend to feed their families.

U.S. Senate Candidate Forum | Nov. 15

WCDP to Cohost U.S. Senate Candidate Forum The Woodbury County Democratic Party is cohosting with Morningside Democrats and the 4th District Iowa Democratic Party a candidate forum with all three Democrats running to fill the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Senator Joni Ernst, who has announced that she will not seek reelection. The event will begin at noon on Saturday, November 15, in the Yockey Room of the Olsen Student Center on Morningside’s campus at 1501 Morningside Avenue in Sioux City. Candidates participating include: Nathan Sage Josh Turek and Zach Wahls It promises to be an enlightening event with three solid candidates who are eager to represent Iowa in the U.S. Senate beginning in January 2027. The race to win control of the Senate is sure to be hard-fought, as Republicans seek to retain control and Democrats run to take back the majority and begin moving the country forward again.

Honoring Outstanding Volunteers from Ida, Sac and Woodbury Counties Join Democrats from Ida, Sac, and Woodbury Counties for an afternoon of community, conversation, and celebration on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 3:00 to 5:00 at the Second Wind in Holstein. You'll hear from Democratic candidates and special guest IDP Chair Rita Hart as we come together to build momentum for 2026. This regional event will feature great food, lively discussion, and the opportunity to connect with neighbors and friends who share your commitment to making a difference in our communities.
