Marty Pottebaum seeks to continue his lifetime of public service as he throws his hat in the ring for a seat on the City Council of Sioux City.
Pottebaum is an Army veteran and a retired Sioux City Police Officer who spent four years on the city council and four years on The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors. He has also been on the Municipal Fire and Police Retirement System of Iowa for 30 years, the last 14 as Chair.
"When I heard that three incumbents were not running, I knew we would be losing a great deal of knowledge and experience, so I decided my past service could help lessen the learning curve of the new council," Pottebaum explains. "I am retired, have the time to serve constituents, know from experience what it takes to do the job right and I’m willing to dedicate myself to that goal."
