Woodbury Democrats Announce County Caucus Details
(SIOUX CITY) Jan. 23, 2026–The Woodbury County Democratic Party (WCDP) announces details of its odd-year (non-presidential election year) caucus. The event will be held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ at 4600 Hamilton Boulevard in Sioux City on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and will be closed to additional participants at 7:00 p.m.
All 44 precincts in Woodbury County will meet at this single location. Any registered Democrat living in the county is eligible to participate. Facilitators will be on hand to register voters and change party affiliation, if needed. Seventeen-year-olds who will be eligible to vote this November may also participate.
Business conducted at the caucus will include:
- Remarks from county officials and candidates
- Election of caucus chair and secretary
- Election of precinct positions
- Election of county convention delegates and alternates
- Platform resolution discussions and adoption.
“This is the nitty-gritty, grassroots level work that will be so important to the Democratic Party’s success in this November’s election,” said WCDP Chair Ryan Akerberg. “‘We urge every Democrat in Woodbury County to participate.”
