Fox "News" Officially Merges With the Republican Party

Compliments of our friends at BuzzFlash.com:

Well, the continued degradation of America by the Bush Administration continues unabated. No matter how low he goes in the polls, the guy is still controlling the nation -- and he has his trigger finger on THE button.

Often overlooked on a day-to-day basis is just how different our country might be if we had a mainstream media that truly reflected the principles of democracy, instead of the interests of corporatism.

So now (and you'll need to go to buzzflash.com to read the stories on this) an anchor person for FOX GOP News is becoming the White House Press Secretary. Yes, Tony Snow, the go-to guy for Cheney when he wants to repeat lies without being challenged is going to officially merge the FOX propaganda network for the Republican Party with the Republican Party!

Remember that FOX News is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who hired GOP television and advertising consultant guru, Roger Ailes, to run FOX News. Yes, FOX News has advertising, but it is -- in and of itself -- one big advertisement for the Republican Party, and currently for Bushevism. It uses the same principles of propaganda disguised as news that Pravda used under the Soviet regime.

And now, FOX News and the GOP are publicly becoming one seamless entity as Tony Snow replaces the infamous masters of saying nothing: Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan.

So the winter hasn't ended in America. We're about to get the biggest press corps Snow job one can imagine.
Only this Snow is as fake and phony as the flakes on a Hollywood Christmas set.

Surely you're aware that Snow has offered public criticism of Bush in the past especially regarding the budget deficit.

It doesn't matter that Snow worked for FOX News. The President may choose whomever he likes to serve on his staff. That's one of the perks that go along with winning an election.

To the Irish Catholica Republican -

William Kristol has occasionally taken issue with how BushCo. has implemented the NeoCon imperium as well - which in no way makes Krisol a more credible agent. You seem to be implying that as long as Agent X has made atleast a few critical remarks of Bush - they automatically earn instant credibility and should no longer be seen as partisan agents. That's pretty tortured logic if you ask me. Tony Snow was a politcal hack/conservative radio talkshow host and Faux News 'analyst' for the GOP and has eyeballs - anyone can look at Bush's dwindling poll numbers while seeing Novemeber 2006 coming straight at them and then decide, hey, maybe we're not doing something right here. Tony's job will be precisely the same as McClellan's was...lie, lie often and repeatedly humiliate yourself in public while carrying BushCo's water. Prepare yourself for one Snowjob after the other.

Of course it matters that Bush chose a Fox News flunky to be his press secretary. It signals their utter contempt for the truth and ackowledgement that Scottie wasn't 'catapulting the propaganda' as effectively as that channel does each and everyday.

pdx,

News commentator or not, did you expect Bush to pick a left-wing liberal?

I don't recall any uproar when Stephanopoulos went to work for ABC or Chris Matthews, former aide to Tip O'Neil and speech writer for Jimmy Carter, went to MSNBC. What's the difference?

No, I didn't expect Bush to pick a liberal press secretary.

Do you even pay attention to Chris Matthews? He can hardly be described as a liberal these days. Maybe a Joe Lieberman liberal but that's a liberal in name only.

As for Stephanopalous, pay attention to the chronology. He was a political adviser to Bush first, then became a moderator of a Sunday political talk show - whose project in no way approaches the type of strident partisanship you see on Faux News each and every day. There's a difference there.

Hey - allow me to clarify, I'm delighted with Snow's selection - far from outraged. It signals just how closely joined at the hip the Murdoch/Ailes/Fox/BushCo. continuum truly is and really makes a laugher out of that 'fair and balanced' schtick once and for all.

As if there was any room for doubt to begin with, I know.

Umm, from above, Stephanopalous was a political adviser to Clinton, not Bush. Duh.

Bush cronies lament McClellan's demise.

"Who will deliver the Snow Job?"

Fox News supplies Tony who believes Bush's lies.

Another one dumb as a doorknob!
