From "Bull Moose" Blog: Conservatism R.I.P.
"All pretenses of limited government conservatism have been cast aside with congressional intervention in the Schiavo case. The era of big government conservatism is in full swing. That is, if it can be called conservatism, at all."

Per the Bull Moose article... today's un-conservatives are Big Government and busy spending our money like they own the bar.
Example A -- the national debt.
Bush entered office with a $5.6 trillion debt. It now stands at $7.8 trillion.
To put it another way, right now --today-- every man, woman and child each owes over $26,000 to cover their portion of the national debt. Compare $26,000 to the $18,000 owed per person in 2000. See what I mean? We're being robbed by a dyslexic Robin Hood.
One thing's for sure, the $2.2 trillion + the Republicans spent isn't buying us a better quality of life. It's time we hold our Republican Congress and Republican president responsible for this money. And it's time to elect some Democrats, at least they know how to balance a budget.
