Staying the Course
I am old time Democrat, loyal from 1,700 miles away, a resident for four and a half years of a beautiful southern California county that has a solid Republican majority. It is contrary to most of the state, but we take the bad with the good so long as Democrats do well.
I have followed the Woodbury County Democrats closely even after being a non-resident. I am pleased that Tim Bottaro is the new chair; he has a fine record of carrying the mail for the good people of the county, as did Rick Mullin for so many years as chair and vice-chair. This is not to slight Al Sturgeon in any serious manner because he has a history of party support, too. But I wonder what he could have been thinking when he wrote a couple things that didn't ring any sound bells in his report upon leaving the chair. I am a veteran of many battles over the years in the political wars and usually landed on my feet, but memory is an important virtue to hang on to, if it is accurate.
I assume you are suffering with the likes of Steve King as your Congressman; I understand. Mine is Republican Randy "Duke" Cunningham, a Vietnam veteran, Marine, all that and more, but he is a sounding board for the Donald Rumsfeld syndrome. I'll close with that, depressing as it is.
